Princess Welcomes Guide Dogs for the Blind Group Potential Passengers and Their Canine Companions Tour Sea Princess

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (May 27, 2011) - Sea Princess recently hosted a group of 25 new graduates from Guide Dogs for the Blind and their owners for the day in San Francisco, to familiarize them with how Princess Cruises can accommodate visually impaired travelers and their canine companions. The group was able to enjoy a tour of the ship and lunch in the dining room, while learning how Princess can provide for their needs and those of their dogs. The event was hosted in association with Dimensions in Travel, a travel agency that regularly organizes travel for Guide Dogs for the Blind clients, to give new guide dog users a feel for what to expect if they join one of the agency's group cruises, or travel independently. Since 2004, Princess has hosted 11 Guide Dogs for the Blind groups on cruises to destinations such as Mexico and Alaska. "Working with these clients has changed the way we travel," said Diana Saint James, owner of Dimensions in Travel. "It's not all about what we see when we travel anymore – it's all of our senses. That's what our relationship with our blind travelers has taught us. It's a different way to see the world." Aboard Sea Princess guests were able to test out many of the special features offered for visually impaired travelers and their dogs. For the dogs, the ships provide special life jackets, bowls of water in the dining room, and relieving boxes with favored cedar chips. Passengers also have specially translated menus and can enjoy reserved seating in the Princess Theater with room for their dogs. During a cruise, passengers and crew are also invited to meet the dogs during a designated play time. "These dogs are canine heroes," said Brian Rademacher, Princess Cruises district sales manager. Princess Cruises Reinstates Calls to Egypt on Upcoming Sailings

All Modified Cruises Return to Original Itineraries

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (April 18, 2011) - Princess Cruises has reinstated calls to Egyptian ports on all itineraries where they were previously removed. In February due to political unrest, Princess modified itineraries for 18 sailings scheduled to call in Egypt through November. The cruises aboard Star Princess, Dawn Princess, Ocean Princess and Pacific Princess have now returned to their originally published itineraries. Princess' first Egypt call is scheduled for May 15. "The situation in Egypt has calmed considerably since wide-spread protests earlier this year, and the tourist areas aren't currently being affected," said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises executive vice president. "So we're pleased to tell passengers they can once again plan to experience this country's iconic pyramids and other ancient wonders. The Egyptian ports of Alexandria and Port Said are part of the two-day Egypt experience included on the line's 12-day Holy Land sailings. Sailings depart from May 7 through November 15, 2011. Passengers currently booked on Holy Land sailings are being contacted with the revised itinerary information. Princess will continue to monitor the situation in Egypt and consult with various authorities to obtain the latest information and advice.

Return Visit Commemorates Cunard's 170th Anniversary

2 August 2010 - History was made in Liverpool recently when Her Royal Highness, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall graced the decks of Cunard Line’s Queen Victoria as the ship made her maiden call in Liverpool. The day marked The Duchess’ second visit to the ship - her first was for the ship’s naming ceremony in December 2007 when she christened the liner. Not only did The Duchess reacquaint herself with “her” ship and crew, but she also helped Cunard commemorate the 170^thanniversary of the company’s first ship, the Britannia, which set sail from Liverpool in July 1840.

“Cunard is honoured that Her Royal Highness named this fine ship, and delighted that she continues to display such an interest both in the ship and in the crew. The Duchess will always be warmly welcomed on board,” said Peter Shanks, president of Cunard Line.

In January 2011, Queen Victoria will begin her first Americasseason, traversing the Panama Canal on more than one voyage and making two rare round trip sailings from Los Angeles to Hawaii, plus debuting her maiden Mexico Getawayvoyage.
